Jesus and the Gift of the Holy Spirit
November 13 @ 6:00 pm – November 15 @ 1:00 pm EST
A hybrid retreat (At the Ohio Yearly Meeting Friends Center in Barnesville OH, and online)
with Ken Jacobsen
“The Holy Spirit, the Advocate, will teach you all things…” [John 15:26]
Jesus promised that when his earthly work was fulfilled, he would send us the Holy Spirit, a Comforter, Advocate, Teacher, to lead us into all Truth (John 16:13). For Quakers this is not just a scriptural promise; we claim that living by Christ’s ever-loving Spirit is our way of life, the individual and collective way we receive power, guidance and wellbeing in all that we do, in all that we are.
What is our experience of the Holy Spirit in our lives individually and collectively? How do we grow together as a loving, living community in the care and wisdom of the Spirit? In this hybrid retreat, through worship, scripture, journaling, and sharing with one another, we hope to open ourselves to the possibility and power of the Holy Spirit among us, here and now. Whatever spiritual path you may be on, you are welcome to join us.
